Nowadays, the spam is a very widespread phenomena, and it is unfortunately also present in WhatsApp, starting to unknown contacts that add you in new groups, or when you receive spam messages like this:
WhatsApp is going to cost us money soon. The only way that it will stay free is if you are a frequent user i.e. you have at least 10 people you are chatting with. To become a frequent user send this message to 10 people who receive it (2 ticks) and your WhatsApp logo should turn Red to indicate a frequent user.
This is absolutely false, but not well-versed users may believe to these messages, or they may be bothered for them.
Today WhatsApp has released a new update on the AppStore, bringing the version number up to 2.18.11.
The new update includes some fixes in order to listen voice messages when WhatsApp is in background. This feature didn’t work in the 2.18.10 update and WhatsApp has immediately fixed it.
It also includes a fix for iOS 7 devices where checkmarks may not be visible.
How many times you received a lot of notifications in a group (for example 100 or more messages) and you decided to not read all them messages?
Soon a new feature will be available that will allow you to quickly find and read only messages where you were mentioned, so all messages sent in the group for you.
In the 2.18.10 iOS update, WhatsApp has implemented a lot of improvements, in particular for voice messages.
Voice messages got an important update that allows to lock them in precedent releases, especially when the user wants to record a long voice message, but voice messages still had two big problems: you weren’t able to listen your voice message before sending it and every new incoming calls would have stopped the current recording.

Everyday, I receive a lot of messages on Twitter where I read what many WhatsApp users wish for a long time.
The most wanted features are Dark Mode, polls in groups, ability to quickly share a photo as file (to quickly send uncompressed photos), Call privacy options and an Apple Watch native app, but the main feature is surely about protecting own chats using Touch ID.
The voice message recording is one of the most used WhatsApp feature of ever.
Since WhatsApp has implemented it in their application, this feature has never been changed or improved.. until today.
This is a very used feature, as mentioned before, but also big features can have issues in the usage.
WhatsApp recently submitted new updates through the Google Play Beta Program for Android and on the AppStore for the iOS platform: analyzing them, we have discovered something very important about groups, that will be available for all platforms in future..
Today WhatsApp has released a new update on the AppStore, bringing the version number up to 2.17.80.
Unfortunately, this update has not new visible features, seen that it is to improve performances and to fix some bugs (in fact the official changelog reports ‘Delete for Everyone’ again). In this sense the update is very small, but allows us to list what is visibly new and all internal changes in this small changelog:
WhatsApp was working since the last year on a feature that allows to revoke your messages on the recipents’ phones.
This feature has been wanting by users, that can wrongly send messages to a different chat, or maybe they write something that they didn’t really want to send.
