WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will let channel admins pin a specific update at the top of the interface. The pinned update lasts up to 30 days before WhatsApp removes it automatically. Followers will be able to find it at any time, regardless of how many new updates the admin shared after it.

WhatsApp is rolling out a new interface for the group chat info screen on iOS. The update introduces two new sections and three tabs that organize members, media, and settings. The new interface makes it easier to find what you need without scrolling through the group info screen.

The latest WhatsApp beta version from TestFlight introduces a small green dot to identify online contacts. The dot appears in the chat info screen when a contact is active and disappears the moment they leave the app. To respect privacy settings, WhatsApp only shows the green dot for contacts who share their online status.

WhatsApp is bringing the iPad app closer to the mobile experience with the latest update. For the first time, users can register their WhatsApp account directly on iPad, making it their primary device. Those users who prefer the companion mode can still use it exactly as before.

WhatsApp is working on new updates for the bottom navigation bar on iOS, and a Contacts tab now looks like the main step. Status updates already moved to the top of the chat list, and channels are on their way into the Chats tab too. After releasing these changes to everyone, WhatsApp can finally introduce a dedicated hub for online contacts.
