COMMUNITIES FOR BUSINESSES

In November 2022, Mark Zuckerberg announced on Facebook a global rollout for WhatsApp Communities, making it easier to manage related groups together. Unfortunately, this feature was not released in Brazil for political reasons, and for other businesses all over the world. Despite WhatsApp having released Communities in Brazil last month, this feature has not yet been made available to businesses… but we finally have news to share with you today. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.4.14 update available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is finally working on bringing communities for businesses in a future update of the app:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is not removing the business tab introduced last year, but they plan to add a new entry point for communities right within the app menu in a future update of the business app. When users open “Communities” right within this menu, they will be able to view the list of all the communities they created and joined in the past, including all their subgroups and community announcement groups. In addition, businesses will be able to create a new community right within this section as happens on the customer app.

The ability to create, manage, and use communities on WhatsApp Business is under development and it will be released at a later date. As always, we’re going to post an additional article when the feature is available for some beta testers in a future update of WhatsApp Business beta.
