WhatsApp is releasing a business tools tab on Android beta

After posting a summary of all recent new features for WhatsApp Business, we can now announce that WhatsApp is releasing a new business tools tab to some beta testers after installing the latest WhatsApp Business beta for Android update.

BUSINESS TOOLS TAB

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.20.5, we posted news about the communities tab: some lucky people that can create a community don’t have the camera tab since it has officially been replaced with the communities tab. About WhatsApp Business, nothing changed since we didn’t receive reports about communities being available for businesses, but we just discovered something else new after installing the latest version of WhatsApp Business beta:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp just removed the camera tab on the business version, and a new business tools tab shows up. A similar tab called “Business Home” has been discovered during the development of WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.117 update released three years ago, but WhatsApp never rolled out such tab to businesses. Finally, the business tools tab is now available to some businesses: it will be now easier for businesses to reach all business tools without opening WhatsApp Settings.

This feature has been released to some businesses after installing the latest update of WhatsApp Business beta today. If the business tools tab doesn’t show up after installing the new update but you see two camera shortcuts, please restart WhatsApp Business. In addition, we can say for sure that the business tools tab won’t be released to the customer app since this is a business feature and further activations for more businesses are planned over the coming days.
