In November 2022, Mark Zuckerberg announced a global rollout for WhatsApp Communities. Thanks to this feature, it is easier to manage similar groups by linking them to a Community. Unfortunately, this feature was not released in Brazil for political reasons last year but there is finally news: WhatsApp is finally rolling out Communities in Brazil, for WhatsApp for iOS, Android, and Desktop:
Communities on WhatsApp provide users with a better way to organize and manage their WhatsApp groups in a new section of the app: they can easily find information by joining similar groups in a WhatsApp community. This is particularly useful for school communities, as it allows teachers to group all their classes together and share important messages with parents in the community announcement group, a special group where up to 5000 members can join.
We also have a WABetaInfo Community on WhatsApp where users can discover new features and updates for WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop, but it is full, unfortunately. In order to join a full WhatsApp Community, it is important to check if the group has less than 5000 participants by checking the invite link: we understand it may be difficult to join due to high demand in Brazil, but there is nothing else you can do now. As soon as the limit for the community announcement group is increased, you will be able to join the group without issues.
The ability to join and create WhatsApp Communities is finally available in Brazil and it is rolling out to those people that still don’t have this feature over the coming 24 hours.
