WhatsApp is introducing a new feature to clean up storage used by channels. The update allows users to filter and delete media from specific channels by category. The feature also lets users clear media from multiple channels at once directly from the Updates tab.

WhatsApp is introducing a dedicated section to make parental controls easier to find. The new entry point is now visible directly within the settings screen, where parents can find it right away. This makes a feature that was already available much easier to discover and set up.

WhatsApp plans to replace the current PIN used for two-step verification with an account password. This change would make the verification process more robust, since a password can include both letters and numbers. The update targets a security layer that WhatsApp never updated since its introduction.

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will let users replace default emojis in the reaction tray. Instead of the six emoji that WhatsApp picks, users will be able to choose the ones that better fit how they communicate. WhatsApp plans to include it in the second set of features for WhatsApp Plus.
