SHARE STATUS UPDATES

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.9.13 update, we posted a new feature under development regarding status updates. In particular, we announced that the process of sharing status updates to Facebook Story will be automatic when the option is manually enabled by the user within the app settings. After installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.9.22 update available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that this feature is now available to some beta testers:

As you can see in this screenshot, in case you see a new Facebook option directly within your status privacy settings, it means the feature is enabled for your account. When you enable this feature, status updates will automatically be posted to Facebook Story, without leaving WhatsApp. In addition, you can still control which status updates are always shared and you can manage who can see your status updates shared to Facebook Story from the Facebook app.

We think this feature is useful for those users that are used to posting status updates to Facebook Story. In the past, there was already a similar feature but users were prompted to share status updates every time. With this feature, the process is automatic so users can save time. As we mentioned in our previous article, this feature is optional and disabled by default so users are still in control over sharing status updates with their favorite audience.

The feature to configure the ability to automatically share status updates to Facebook Stories is available for some beta testers that install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
