WhatsApp has rolled out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.5.13.

While we’re waiting for the release of the global voice note player, a feature available in a future update on WhatsApp beta for Android, WhatsApp is now introducing some changes to forwarded voice notes.
The first difference is about the color: WhatsApp is now using orange icons when you forward voice notes and audio files (it was yellow in a previous update). In order to distinguish forwarded voice notes and audio files, WhatsApp is using a different icon when you forward a voice note. Forwarded voice notes also include voice waveforms if the original voice note was recorded by using a version of WhatsApp where the feature is enabled.
Forwarded voice notes also include a playback speed now, but this feature is not available for audio files right now: WhatsApp is developing it on WhatsApp beta for iOS, so it’s not surprising to see it in a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android.
The changes are available to certain beta testers, and there will be more activations in a future update.
