WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 18.104.22.168.
What’s new in this update? WhatsApp is releasing the ability to detect links within the caption of status updates!
|Name of the feature?||Links detection for status updates|
|Compatibility?||WhatsApp beta for Android 22.214.171.124 is marked as a compatible update but some beta testers may be able to get the same feature on a different version today.|
|I’ve installed this update but I don’t have this feature. Why?||Since this feature has only been released to some beta testers, it means you need to wait for a future update in order to get it.|
|Thanks:||Saadh Jawwadh for testing and reporting!|
|Previous news?||WhatsApp is releasing a business tools tab on Android beta|
After releasing the WhatsApp beta for Android 126.96.36.199 update, which brings the ability to react to status updates to more users and a business tools tab for businesses, another update is now available: the 188.8.131.52 beta build. Unfortunately, this beta version brings an issue with notifications so a new bug-fix update will be available soon that should address this issue. In the meantime, this is not exactly the only thing that’s changed after updating to the newest beta: in fact, WhatsApp is releasing the ability to detect whether there is a link within the caption of status updates!
