In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.7 update, we talked about a new footer at the bottom of your call history, available in a future update. Today, thanks to the most recent beta update available on the Play Store, we have discovered some references of the same footer to be added at the bottom of your chats list, in a future update of the app:
WhatsApp is planning to add the footer “Your personal messages are end-to-end encrypted” at the bottom of your chats list so the user always knows that their messages are end-to-end encrypted and nobody, not even WhatsApp, can read their content. Probably we will see more similar footers in other sections of the app in the next updates.
WhatsApp is also developing the same footer for a future update of WhatsApp beta for iOS and WhatsApp Desktop beta and a changelog will be available on this website when the new footer is officially added.
