WhatsApp beta for Android 2.18.70 and 2.18.71: what's new?

WhatsApp has submitted two new updates through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.18.71.
What's new in this update? WhatsApp is working on a feature that lets users send voice notes with a lock mode, and it will be available in a future update!

WhatsApp is working on a feature to record voice notes with a lock

Finally, WhatsApp is developing a feature that lets users record voice notes more easily. To use it, users will have to tap the microphone icon in the chat. A new interface will appear immediately, and it shows a locked microphone button.

Once it appears, slide your finger upward to activate the locked recording mode.

WhatsApp will update the UI again, giving you the possibility to navigate in the chat without holding the microphone button.

Another useful improvement will be available soon in a future release. The update will let you listen to your voice messages before sending them.
WhatsApp is working on this feature to improve the recording experience. We will also share the same method we previously recommended for iOS users once it becomes available. Stay tuned!

The feature to record voice notes with a lock is not ready for release

This feature is not available yet. WhatsApp has started working on it in this update, and it will be enabled in future releases. It is normal if you have updated the app but still do not see it. It will be available in the future.

WhatsApp Sticker Pack size

In a future update, users will also be able to see the size of a specific sticker pack before downloading it.
