WhatsApp has rolled out a mention badge for several Android beta users a few days ago, with the 22.214.171.124 beta update.
Today WhatsApp is rolling out the same feature for many iOS beta users. This is a bit different than other functionalities, because it’s a test feature, so it might take a while before appearing in your WhatsApp account.
Disappearing messages couldn’t be enabled/disabled from any group member, because only the admin could do it.
After installing this new update, WhatsApp now allows to toggle Disappearing Messages in groups from everyone.
If you’re a group admin and you want to keep this feature as admin tool only, you can do it opening “Group Info” > Group Settings > “Edit Group Info” > “Only Admins”:
This feature is available today for iOS users, it has been recently enabled installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 126.96.36.199 update and it’s available for the latest WhatsApp for iOS 2.21.71 stable update on the App Store.
When you’re viewing the details of a message in “Message Info”, swiping back is faster than before.
