Previous news? WhatsApp to allow chat history migration between iOS and Android in a future update!

Disappearing messages are a way to automatically delete all messages in a disappearing chat. At the moment, when the user enables this option, all messages will be deleted after 7 days.
WhatsApp is also testing, for a future update, the possibility to set messages to be automatically deleted after 24 hours, as mentioned in this tweet 1 month ago.

Disappearing messages are available for private and group chats, but only admin can enable disappearing messages in group chats.
What’s the news today? WhatsApp is now rolling out the possibility to toggle disappearing messages from any group member, if the administrator didn’t disable this possibility. So everyone in a group is now able to enable disappearing messages.

As you can see in this screenshot, the option “Edit group info” has been updated in order to reflect to the recent changes, such as the option to enable disappearing messages for everyone or group admins only. If you are a group admin and you want to prevent any other group member to enable/disable disappearing messages, you should set “Edit Group Info” to “Only group admins”.
