WhatsApp is finally rolling out two new useful tools to manage disappearing messages.
The first feature is about new ephemeral durations. Your messages disappeared after 7 days, but now you can choose between different durations, such as 24 hours, 90 days, and, obviously, 7 days.
You can also set a default message timer for new chats. What does it mean? If you enable “Default Message Timer” within WhatsApp Privacy Settings, all new chats will start with the disappearing messages option enabled for the selected duration.
Note that, when you set the default message timer, your existing chats and new groups won’t be started with the default timer.
These new features are available today on WhatsApp beta for iOS, WhatsApp Business beta for iOS, and the support is coming on WhatsApp beta for Android very soon. Be sure to use the latest update available on TestFlight.
