FORWARD MEDIA WITH CAPTION
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.72 update, we posted news about a new feature available for some beta testers: the ability to forward images, videos, GIFs, and documents, with a caption! Thanks to this feature, it is finally possible to keep a caption while forwarding media.
Today, a new update has been released on the App Store and the official changelog reports that it is a bug-fix update, but there is more to test: WhatsApp is now rolling out the ability to forward media with a caption to some users after installing the latest WhatsApp for iOS 22.23.77 update from the App Store:
As you can see in this screenshot, you need to forward an image with a caption in order to discover if the feature is enabled for your account: in case it is available, a new view will show up at the bottom of the screen. In addition, thanks to the dismiss button, it is also possible to remove the caption from the image before forwarding the message in case you don’t want to forward the caption.
Note that as mentioned above, this feature is not limited to images but you can also forward videos, GIFs, and documents, without losing the caption. As always, forwarded media with a caption are end-to-end encrypted so nobody can see the content of the forwarded message.
The ability to forward images, videos, GIFs, and documents, with a caption has been released to some users that install the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store it rolling out to more users over the coming days.
