Another update has been released for the native Windows app on the Microsoft Store. The latest update introduces the ability to keep messages from disappearing, a feature that is already available on mobile apps and the Desktop Electron version of WhatsApp. With this feature, you can prevent certain messages from disappearing by selecting the option “keep” within the message menu. This feature is gradually rolling out to all users that install one of the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Windows:

In case you decided to keep some messages from disappearing, they will be listed within the chat info screen. Everyone is still in control over those messages: in case someone in the conversation doesn’t want to keep a message from disappearing, they can use the “unkeep” action to restore the message’s ability to disappear.

But the ability to keep messages from disappearing is not the only feature implemented in the latest update. In fact, as you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp has also introduced a new button to quickly send a reaction. With the latest update, some users may also notice that the reactions bar has been included in the redesigned menu. In conclusion, we think the new update definitely improves the user interface when viewing the message options.

The feature to keep messages from disappearing and the redesigned message menu along with the reaction tray is available for some beta testers that install the latest WhatsApp beta for Windows update released on the Microsoft Store. If you don’t see this update on the Microsoft Store, please note that it will be rolled out to more users over the coming days.
