COMMUNITIES FOR WHATSAPP BUSINESS

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.4.14 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on a new feature under development for the business app: communities. In fact, businesses were left waiting for access to this feature without a known reason, but we announced that they will finally be able to create and manage communities in a future update of WhatsApp Business beta for Android. What about iOS users? Thanks to the recent update of WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.5.0.75 available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is also working on bringing Communities to the iOS business app in the future!

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is planning to add a new entry point for Communities within the app settings, rather than removing the business tools tab that was introduced last year. Businesses will finally be able to access the list of all the communities they have joined in the past, including their subgroups and community announcement groups. In addition, businesses will be able to create new communities within this section, just as other users can in the customer app.

In our opinion, this new feature has the potential to transform how businesses may communicate with their customers on WhatsApp. For example, businesses can take advantage of this feature to gather valuable feedback from their customers by creating dedicated communities and subgroups. This could be especially helpful for those important businesses looking to improve their communication channels and enhance their customer engagement.

In addition, this update also brings the ability to get a list of groups in common with a certain contact when you’re searching for it. Be sure to install this update to get this feature enabled for your WhatsApp account.

The ability to create and manage communities on WhatsApp Business is under development and it will be released in a future update of the app. As always, we will publish an additional article on this website when we have further details to share with you.
