SWITCH – MATERIAL DESIGN 3
WhatsApp keeps working on the project to improve the app by tweaking the user interface, following the principles of Material 3 Design. They started with the bottom navigation bar, available to some beta testers after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.10.6 update, and it seems they want to introduce further improvements to the interface. In fact, with the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.12.3 update available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that the company is now working on redesigning the app switches, for a future update of the app:

As you can see in this screenshot, the redesign of the switch UI in WhatsApp will bring a fresh and modern aesthetic to the app. In fact, the new switch style integrates with the overall interface, featuring an enhanced design that complements the visual language of Material Design 3. The switch toggle also looks intuitive, allowing users to easily toggle between options with a simple tap.
In our opinion, this development is excellent news for WhatsApp users as it showcases their dedication to continually enhancing the user interface. The redesign of the switches, in line with Material Design 3 guidelines, reflects their commitment to providing an improved visual experience and enhanced functionality. We think this project proves their efforts to prioritize user satisfaction and ensure the best user experience while navigating through the app settings.
The redesign for switches that follows Material Design 3 rules is under development and it will be released to beta testers in a future update of the app. As always, we will post another article on this website when this feature will be available in the future.
