WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.4.8: what’s new?

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.4.8.
What’s new in this update? It is a very important bug fix update!

Some hours ago, WhatsApp has released two new beta updates (2.22.4.6 and 2.22.4.7) and, after installing those updates, a lot of users were experiencing a critical issue: WhatsApp keeps stopping.

What can you do to avoid this situation again? We always recommend backing up your chat history before installing a new beta, so it’s easy to downgrade if you have a recent backup on Google Drive. When you install a new beta, you experience issues and you cannot wait for a bug fix update (but you don’t have a recent backup), you can consider downgrading WhatsApp without losing data: some users have successfully downgraded to the previous 2.22.4.5 beta update by following this guide on my website. Unfortunately, when you join a beta program, things like that may happen, since WhatsApp releases new beta updates every day. If you don’t like to be part of the beta program, you can opt out anytime by opening the Play Store.
