WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.18.4.

Last week, we published the details about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.24 update that implements a feature for status updates: it brings, to some lucky beta testers, the ability to react to others’ status updates by choosing one of the 8 available emojis. Unfortunately, that update also broken something with audio calls: in fact, some people were experiencing a visual issue when placing audio calls:
As you can see in this screenshot, when users tried to place an audio call on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.23 and 2.22.17.24, the view was completely empty and some details such as the caller name and call duration were not available.
Fortunately, WhatsApp just released a new update beta that finally addresses this issue.
If you were experiencing this bug, please be sure to update your version of WhatsApp within the Play Store so you can finally place audio calls without any issue.
