In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.12.3 update, we published some information about new ban reasons for those businesses that don’t follow the WhatsApp’s Commerce Policy. Today, we can finally announce that WhatsApp is planning to warn those businesses that don’t follow the policy by alerting them thanks to a new in-app warning banner:
As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is planning to introduce a new banner at the top of the chats list when their automatic systems detect suspicious activity in the business account. WhatsApp will explain what’s wrong with the account in detail, so businesses can immediately fix the issue by properly following the policy. Probably WhatsApp wants to give businesses another chance before banning them by introducing this feature.
Note that this feature is only limited to business accounts since they also have to follow the Commerce Policy. In addition, even if the screenshot is taken from WhatsApp beta for iOS, the same feature will also be available to businesses that use WhatsApp beta for Android. We will post further details when they are available.
This feature is currently under development and it will be released at a later date: we will inform you when WhatsApp releases the update that rolls out the feature to businesses in the future.
