We have good news this week: WhatsApp has released new interesting updates, bringing some features (new voice calls UI and dark theme) that have been very appreciated by several people!
- In the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.5.1 update, we explained that WhatsApp is planning to indicate when you contact a business by using the business directory, and the feature businesses nearby.
- WhatsApp has introduced some minor tweaks for the in-app camera in the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.4.0.72 update. Similar changes may be introduced on WhatsApp beta for Android later.
- After releasing the WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2205.2.0 update (UWP version), we have discovered that WhatsApp is finally releasing the dark theme. This is the best news of the week:
- WhatsApp is also preparing new dark icons to be used when the feature to ask for a ban review will be available to Android beta testers.
- WhatsApp has released new voice call interface when placing voice calls. In addition, certain beta testers are able to see real-time voice waveforms during group calls.
