WHATSAPP NEWS OF THE WEEK
- The first news of the week was about some improvements for the drawing editor on WhatsApp Desktop beta that lets some beta testers apply two different blur effects to their images.
- WhatsApp was experiencing severe outages worldwide and the service was not available for two hours or so.
- WhatsApp is testing some improvements for sending messages to yourself by adding a dedicated caption to the chat with your own phone number, and an entry point to open such conversation will be available in a future update.
- After installing the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.70 update from the TestFlight app, profile photos within group chats show up to some beta testers. This is surely the best news of the week:
- The feature has been enabled for some iOS beta testers this week but it will be possible to view profile photos within group chats in a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta as well.
- WhatsApp is releasing the ability to forward images, videos, GIFs, and documents, with a caption, to some beta testers after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.23.15 update.
- After rolling out the ability to forward media with a caption to some beta testers on WhatsApp beta for Android, WhatsApp is now releasing a different layout for the forwarded message view in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.2 update.
- WhatsApp is working on a new logout screen during the development of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.23.14 update.
