WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.2: what’s new?

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.24.2.
What’s new in this update? WhatsApp is releasing a different layout for the feature that lets forward media with a caption.

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.23.15 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out new important improvements for forwarding media. In particular, thanks to the new feature released to some beta testers, it is possible forward images, videos, GIFs, and documents, with a caption. The feature was limited to be released to certain beta testers but after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.2 update, those users can notice a different layout for the forwarding view:

As you can see in this screenshot, we compared the old UI with the new one and you can notice that the company re-arranged the view by swapping the image with the message box and vice versa: it is a simple change but it looks better to our eyes, in our opinion. In addition, more beta testers are able to get this exact feature after installing the latest beta: just try to forward an image with a caption to discover if you have the feature enabled for your WhatsApp account.

The ability to forward images, videos, GIFs, and documents, with a caption has been released to some beta testers with the new arrangement and it is rolling out to more users over the coming days.
