WHATSAPP NEWS OF THE WEEK
  • WhatsApp has rolled out voice waveforms for a larger number of users this week, after installing the new WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2209.3 update, but more people on stable releases have received the same feature as well.
  • Settings to manage reaction notifications are finally available after updating to the WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2210.1 update, for a large amount of beta testers. In the last few weeks, the feature has been rolled out to Android and iOS beta testers, so maybe the feature to react to messages is really close to being released!
  • WhatsApp has enabled the global voice note player after releasing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.7.11 update. More beta testers can also receive the same feature by updating to the latest beta available on the Play Store. This is surely the best news of the week:

  • Another update for WhatsApp Desktop beta has been released, in order to fix an issue with quick shortcuts. The feature has been wrongly enabled for everyone, but this is a business tool so it should only be available when using a business account.
  • Let’s talk about new features under development. WhatsApp is working on a yearly reminder for their Terms of Service in India, as required by India’s Information Technology Rules 2021.
  • We have spotted another feature under development: the ability to view and manage business orders, available in a future update of WhatsApp Business.
  • Lastly, WhatsApp is now announcing a multi-device update in order to release bug fixes and improvements to all iOS users within the end of this month and Android users in April. Similar fixes have been released to a certain amount of beta testers in November and January, but more is coming.
