WHATSAPP NEWS OF THE WEEK
- The first news of the week was a summary about all recent new features for WhatsApp Business: new linked device interface, track ad, and reorder collections. These features are available to almost all businesses that install the latest version of WhatsApp Business for Android and iOS.
- WhatsApp is redesigning the Windows native beta app by adding a new app sidebar that lets you easily reach the list of your status updates, chats, settings, and your profile. In addition, it is finally possible to reply to status updates.
- As you know, the camera tab has been replaced with the communities tab for some users on WhatsApp beta for Android. On WhatsApp Business, WhatsApp is now introducing a business tools tab that replaces the old camera tab. This is available to some businesses that install the latest beta versions of WhatsApp Business.
- Thanks to the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.14 update, we discovered useful information about editing messages, a feature under development for a future update: edited messages will be marked with a label "Edited" and WhatsApp will offer users up to 15 minutes to edit their messages after being sent. In our opinion, this is the best news of the week:
- A new update is available on the App Store: the WhatsApp for iOS 22.21.75 build. Thanks to this update, the ability to react to status updates is available to almost all users!
- After releasing the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.22.0.70 update, users on iOS 16 can finally format text messages again by using the new format text shortcut within the text action menu.
- WhatsApp is introducing a minor change to reactions: up to 4 reactions will show up within chat bubbles to users that install the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.12 update.
- Some users are now able to include a link to the caption when sharing a status update: this feature has been enabled for some beta testers after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.11 update. Unfortunately, this beta brings an issue with notifications and they don't properly work.
- The issue with notifications introduced in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.11 update has finally been fixed in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.22.16 version.
