BRING IN NEW CUSTOMERS - BANNER

Exactly one year ago, we posted news about how to create ads that lead to WhatsApp by using WhatsApp Business: businesses can be reached by new customers thanks to some advertisements that redirect to their accounts through click to WhatsApp.
Some businesses that still don't have connected their WhatsApp account to Facebook and Instagram to use this feature and are using one of the most updated beta versions of the app are receiving a new in-app banner today:

As you can see in this screenshot, the new in-app banner shows up when opening WhatsApp Business and it suggests businesses a way to reach new customers by linking their accounts to Facebook or Instagram. After connecting their accounts, businesses may be reached by new followers by advertising on these platforms, a feature already available since last year, so people that see the ad on Facebook or Instagram can quickly start a WhatsApp chat with the business. Note that businesses can even track their ads right within WhatsApp.

As additional info to prevent misinformation, note that those advertisements will only show up on Facebook and Instagram. WhatsApp is not testing any form of advertising on their application for the future: you're always in control over your conversations so you can block businesses if you receive unwanted messages.

The new in-app banner is available for some beta testers after installing one of the most recent beta versions of WhatsApp Business for Android and iOS and it is rolling out to more users over the coming days.
