Two weeks ago, WhatsApp has started to roll out a new feature that let users have more control over voice notes: the ability to play voice notes when switching to a different conversation!
The feature was available to some beta testers after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.7.11 update, but this was limited to a certain number of users.
But there is news today: after the first test, WhatsApp is now rolling out the voice note player to more Android beta testers that are using the latest beta versions available on the Play Store. So be sure to use WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.7 and WhatsApp Business beta for Android 2.22.8.8 to be eligible to get the feature!
As we explained in the previous changelog, the best way to check if the feature is already available for your WhatsApp account is to play a voice note and switch to a different conversation: if you see a voice note player bar at the top of your screen, the feature is available!
If the feature is not enabled for your WhatsApp account, do not worry: try to wait at least 24 hours to get the feature, otherwise, it means there will be another rollout that enables the feature for you. Note that the feature has been already released on WhatsApp for iOS in a previous update.
