After publishing an article about a future WhatsApp feature that will allow users to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices, WhatsApp continues to develop new features planned for release in a future major update.

WhatsApp is working on a boomerang effect for videos

Just like Instagram, WhatsApp is developing its own Boomerang feature. The option will allow users to loop videos. It will appear in the Video Type panel, the same section used to convert videos into GIFs. However, it will be available only for videos shorter than 7 seconds. It will let users easily create boomerang-style clips to share with contacts or post as a status update.

Initially, the feature will be available on iOS. It will then be gradually rolled out to Android devices as well.

The boomerang feature is not yet ready for release

  • The Boomerang feature is not available yet.
  • WhatsApp is working on the feature in the last few weeks, in order to ensure the best bug-free experience for you, before the release for everyone.
  • For this reason, there is no issue if you have updated your WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS and it's not visible for you, seen that it is in a development stage.
  • I have no details about when the feature will be released for everyone, so I invite you to be patient.
