WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.3.4: what’s new?

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.23.3.4.
What’s new in this update? WhatsApp is working on a new text editor for the drawing tool, for a future update of the app!

WhatsApp keeps working on improving the drawing tools by introducing new features. Last year, WhatsApp released new drawing tools after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.9.7 update by bringing new pencils and a blur tool. Today, we have news about new improvements for the drawing editor planned to be released in a future update of the app: a redesigned text editor!

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is planning to introduce three new features to enhance the drawing editor:

1. The first feature is about the ability to quickly switch between different fonts by simply tapping one of the font options displayed above the keyboard. Note that it is already possible to change the text font but WhatsApp is making it easier thanks to this interface.
2. The second feature is about the ability to change text alignment. Thanks to this feature, it will be possible to align the text to the left, center, or right, so you have finally more control over formatting your text within images, videos, and GIFs.
3. The third feature is about the ability to change the text background. Thanks to this feature, it will be possible to choose a different background color, making it easier to differentiate important text.

The new text editor is a feature under development and it will be released in a future update of the app. As always, we will post an additional article on this website when we have further details to share with you.
