After releasing a new footer to inform people about end-to-end encryption and a redesigned security page in the recent update of WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.11.10, we have spotted some similar details in the latest beta build of WhatsApp Desktop beta:
Even if the feature is still under development, we are able to show you the redesigned security page, available in a future update of the app, and it is very similar to the one implemented on WhatsApp beta for Android. What’s the difference? The new security page informs people what is secured by end-to-end encryption: text and voice messages, audio and video calls, photos, videos, and documents, location sharing, and status updates.
We do not know when WhatsApp is planning to release the redesigned security page to beta testers but when it is available, the new footer (spotted in the WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2206.1 update) will also be rolled out to beta testers. We plan to post another changelog about a future update of the app on this website when the redesigned security page and the new footer are rolled out to beta users.
