Two months ago, we explained that WhatsApp was working on end-to-end encryption indicators on the iOS app, in order to explain that your chats are end-to-end encrypted.
Today, WhatsApp has released the new WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2206.1, bringing some information about a future update:
As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is planning to introduce a new footer at the end of your chats list, indicating that your messages are end-to-end encrypted. Learn more about how end-to-end encryption works from the official WhatsApp Security page.
This indicator is not available right now because it’s under development (like every other feature, we know that) and it will be released at a later date.
