Previous news? | WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.5: what’s new? This is a bug fixes update. |
Yesterday, WhatsApp has released a bug fixes update for the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.5 update, and it’s the turn of WhatsApp Desktop today. Some days ago, we published a tweet explaining that some users were experiencing an issue that prevented loading profile photos:
According to this screenshot, contacts don’t have a profile photo and group chats don’t have a group icon, but it is a bug. Today, WhatsApp is releasing a bug fixes update for the desktop beta app fixing the issue above mentioned, so profile photos show up again at launch. In addition, WhatsApp has also included the same fix in the latest WhatsApp Desktop stable version so, if you don’t run beta versions, you do not need to wait for the next stable 2.2211 build or you do not need to switch to the beta version. Note that WhatsApp Desktop and WhatsApp Web run the same code, so the fix is also available when using WhatsApp Web. Be sure to update WhatsApp Desktop by tapping “Update now” right within WhatsApp Desktop, above your chats list.
