REDESIGNED MEDIA PICKER

Last week, we published an article where we announced a tweaked interface app sidebar on the native WhatsApp for macOS beta version. In addition, we announced a new style for different sections of the app during the development of the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.7.0.74 update, and it will be available at a later date. These improvements definitely confirm their commitment to improving the user interface by redesigning certain sections of the app, and something else just got a tweaked interface in the latest beta: the media picker!

Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.7.0.77 update available on the TestFlight app, some beta testers may be able to get a redesigned media picker. With the tweaked media picker, users will be able to see which photos and videos they chose within a new bottom toolbar. If you want to discover if the feature is already enabled for your WhatsApp account, try to select more than one image within the media picker. In case the bottom toolbar appears, it means the feature is available for your account.

Thanks to the enhanced media picker that offers the new bottom toolbar, WhatsApp is improving the user experience by offering an overview of all selected media. In fact, it is also possible to scroll through the items within the toolbar, making it easier for users to see which images and videos have been selected: it is definitely more convenient to view them directly from the toolbar rather than scrolling through the entire media picker, especially when users selected items that are widely dispersed on the grid.

The redesigned media picker is available for some beta testers that install the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
