NEW TEXT EDITOR

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.5.0.72 update, we shared information regarding a new feature under development: a revamped text editor. With this feature, WhatsApp planned to bring new text tools to the drawing editor in order to improve the user experience when editing images, videos, and GIFs. This feature has already been released to some beta testers on Android after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.7.17 update and, thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.8.0.73 update available on the TestFlight app, WhatsApp is now releasing the new text editor to people that use the iOS beta app:

The new text editor offers various tools and features that improve the user experience, including new fonts, text formatting options, and a new style for drawing shortcuts. This is a list of what you can expect from the new text editor after installing the latest beta version:

  1. Font options: users can now switch between different fonts by tapping one of the font options above the keyboard. This makes it easy to select the font you want and customize your text.
  2. Text alignment: it is now possible to change text alignment to the left, center, or right, giving you more control over formatting your text within images, videos, and GIFs.
  3. Text background color: users can also change the background color, making it easier to differentiate important text from the rest.
  4. New fonts: with the revamped text editor, new fonts are available to users, including Calistoga, Courier Prime, Damion, Exo 2, and Morning Breeze.

The new text editor for the drawing tool is available for some beta testers that install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it is rolling out to even more users over the coming days.
