In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS update, we posted news about a redesigned camera mode. Thanks to this redesign, it would have been easier to record videos hands-free. The feature has already been announced within the official changelog of the WhatsApp beta for Android update and it is finally rolling out to some beta testers after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS update from the TestFlight app!

As you can see in this screenshot, the camera looks different for those users that have the feature enabled for their WhatsApp account. They are now able to switch to video mode with just a tap so they don’t need to tap and hold to record videos hands-free. It is also possible to switch from front to back camera or vice versa while recording, making it easier to record videos in any situation. In case the feature is not enabled for your WhatsApp account, please wait for a future update as it is coming for everyone soon.

In addition, this update also brings the ability to share voice notes via status again. This feature has been released after installing the WhatsApp beta for iOS update but recently, some users were unable to share voice notes as status updates. Finally, the feature is back after installing the beta.

The new camera mode is available for some beta testers that install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for iOS from TestFlight, and it is rolling out to even more users over the coming days.
