AI STICKERS

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.14 update, we posted information regarding a new feature available to some beta testers: AI stickers. With this feature, it is possible to quickly generate a new sticker by using AI provided by Meta. While this feature was available to a restricted number of beta testers on Android, we discovered that WhatsApp is now rolling out the ability to make AI stickers to some users who install the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.20.1.70 update from the TestFlight app!

As you can see in the attached screenshot, there is a new “Create” button that might appear when the keyboard is opened within the sticker tab, in case this feature is enabled for your account. By selecting this option, users will receive a prompt to input a description for generating a sticker. WhatsApp will then display a series of AI-generated stickers based on the provided description, allowing users to choose a sticker to share in their conversation. It’s worth noting that this feature is still limited to some users, so it may take time before it becomes available to everyone. In addition, it is not exclusive to beta testers as users that test the latest stable release may finally be able to experiment with this feature.

As we said in our previous article regarding this feature, we think it offers several benefits to the user experience. Specifically, users can generate personalized AI stickers by only entering a short prompt. In our opinion, this high level of customization enhances messaging by making interactions definitely more engaging and it makes conversations incredibly convenient and fun with unique stickers. In addition, this approach finally eliminates the need for advanced design skills or external third-party tools, as users can effortlessly generate stickers by entering relevant keywords at any time.

The feature to create and share AI stickers is available to some beta testers who install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming weeks.
