Users can add a widget for Meta AI to the Home Screen
WhatsApp is exploring a feature that adds a widget for accessing Meta AI directly from their Home Screen. The widget is optional, and it is listed among other widgets offered by WhatsApp. However, it will be only available for accounts that already have access to AI-powered chats. Since AI-powered chats are limited to certain countries, the widget may not be accessible to everyone at launch.
How the widget for Meta AI works
The widget will let users initiate a conversation with Meta AI right from their Home Screen in the future. The widget improves convenience, as users won't need to open WhatsApp to access Meta AI. It will include a quick link to open the chat with Meta AI, making it easier to ask questions or request assistance. It will also feature a shortcut to capture a photo instantly and share it with Meta AI. This feature will allow users to ask the chatbot to edit the photo or address any questions related to the image.
