SECURITY NOTIFICATIONS

WhatsApp keeps working on improving the interface of the app. While some people are still waiting for a wider release for the bottom navigation bar and other enhancements regarding the Material Design 3, WhatsApp is now releasing some minor UI adjustments. In particular, after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.15.21 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, some users may experiment with an improved interface for the security notifications screen.

As you can see in the attached screenshot, some users may notice a new interface for the security notifications section. The new interface includes a redesigned header that further reinforces the notion of security. In addition, the list visible in this section has been redesigned to offer a more user-friendly experience. Thanks to the previous updates, we understood that WhatsApp intends to enhance the application’s interface. Through these small adjustments, WhatsApp hopes to satisfy an increasing number of users.

Please be aware that this update comes with a few known and critical issues, including important crashes. Specifically, some users have experienced crashes while trying to open the emoji keyboard during conversations. Additionally, there are reports of certain users being unable to react to messages with emojis after pressing the “plus” button within the reaction tray. Furthermore, some users have encountered a crash in configuring their avatars, accessing the privacy screen, and adding text over images using the drawing editor. We suggest avoiding this version and waiting for a new bug-fix update, as we recommended on Twitter.

The new interface for the security notification screen is available to some beta testers that install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
