In 2018, WhatsApp released the ability to share stickers, a new way to communicate with your family and friends. In the following weeks, WhatsApp also allowed several designers to import stickers into WhatsApp, creating sticker packs from third-party apps. One of the requirements when creating stickers was to associate a certain number of emojis with each sticker. Finally, WhatsApp WhatsApp is making use of that requirement requested back in 2018 by releasing a particular sticker search feature to some beta testers that install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 188.8.131.52 update from the Google Play Store!
As you can see in this screenshot, a new sticker tray appears above the keyboard, showing all the stickers associated with the emoji entered in the chat bar. In case you want to discover if this feature is enabled for your account, we recommended downloading the Cuppy sticker pack from the built-in stickers store. After downloading this sticker pack, just type an emoji (for example, the one shown in the attached screenshot): if the feature is available for your WhatsApp account, you should experiment with the new sticker tray to quickly send the sticker.
In our opinion, this is one of the most beneficial features when it comes to stickers. As the number of installed stickers continues to grow over time, it becomes very complicated to locate a specific sticker from the ones available. With this feature, finding the right sticker for any situation will be much easier, saving time in the process. It’s worth noting that this feature is also compatible with third-party stickers. However, if you wish to enable support for this feature, you may need to modify the sticker pack within the application you used to create it and associate an emoji with each sticker.
The new sticker suggestion feature is available to some beta testers that install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days. Note that this feature may also be available to some beta testers that install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS. However, we are going to post an article when the rollout will be wider by installing the next version.
