MATERIAL DESIGN 3
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.12.3 update, we announced that WhatsApp keeps working on the project to improve the app by bringing a redesign to several elements of the user interface. In particular, we shared information regarding a new interface for switches, that follow rules from Material Design 3. Similar news was shared in the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.12.15 update, where we published a screenshot of a redesigned floating action button. After installing the latest business version of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.13.4 update from the Play Store, we can confirm that some beta testers may be able to get the new redesign!
As you can see in this screenshot, the best way to check if you have new switches is to open the app settings. You will be able to see if the new interface is available by observing the toggles, that feature an enhanced design that complements the visual language of Material Design 3. In addition, you should immediately notice if the new floating action button is available for your WhatsApp account by opening the chat list, calls, and status tabs after updating the app. Note that some people may also be able to see the same changes by installing the previous update of the app, which currently corresponds to the 2.23.12.20 version for WhatsApp Messenger beta available on the Google Play Store.
As we said in our previous article when the feature was in development, we believe that following the Material Design 3 guidelines shows their commitment to consistently improving the user interface. The updated switch interface and the redesigned floating action button, which now align with Material Design 3 principles, provide users with a sense of dedication to delivering an enhanced visual and fresh experience to the app. We think their project to support Material Design 3 is definitely focused on prioritizing user satisfaction, highlighting their dedication to providing the best possible user experience.
The new switch UI and the redesigned floating action buttons that follow Material Design 3 guidelines are available to some beta testers that install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store, and they are rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
