KEYBOARD AND COMMUNITY
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.12.8 update, we announced that a redesigned keyboard was under development. Thanks to this feature, WhatsApp users will experiment with an improved keyboard experience. Various interface elements have been redesigned and repositioned, allowing users to scroll the keyboard upward and view the emoji list in full-screen. Finally, after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.12.13 update from the Google Play Store, some users may be able to get this feature!
As you can see in this screenshot, you need to open a chat to verify if this feature is enabled for your account. If the new keyboard shows up, you can already start taking advantage of the new keyboard experience. Certain beta testers may also notice a rearrangement of the media sharing and emoji keyboard buttons, but this is currently limited to a select group of users and is not yet available to everyone.
However, this is not the only new feature included in this update. In fact, some users may have access to a new section called “Community Settings”, which allows community admins to decide who can add groups to the community. This group setting is set to “Only community admins” by default but if you have reasons to believe that participants in your community should be able to add their own groups, you can modify this option at any time.
The redesigned keyboard and community settings are available to some beta testers that install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store, and they will be released to more users over the coming weeks.
