WhatsApp has recently submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.18.373 version.
Let’s find out together what is new ..
- The new Multi Share File feature is not available yet.
- WhatsApp is working in order to add this feature, adding new improvements in the next updates. It’s not available yet for development reasons and the feature needs to get many other improvements before to be enabled for everyone.
For this reason, it’s ok if you have updated your WhatsApp version and it’s not working for you seen that the feature is under development.
MULTI SHARE FILE
In the recent beta updates, WhatsApp has enabled for all beta testers the Multi Share Text feature, as I’ve announced on Twitter:
WhatsApp is rolling out the new "Multi Share" feature for Android beta 2.18.366.
You need to use the "Share" (sharing text from another app) native feature and it allows to see the preview of the text you are sharing (with 2 or more contacts).
It’s compatible with link preview. https://t.co/SigJvV09Io

To use this feature, it is necessary to share a text with at least two contacts, from another application. In this case, WhatsApp shows a preview of the text you want to share.
WhatsApp has decided to improve this feature, supporting more functionalities, adding the support for the Multi Share File feature.
This feature works exactly like the Multi Share Text one: you need to share, from another app, a file to at least two contacts.
And, to my great surprise, WhatsApp allows to play audio before sending it to the recipients, when shared from another app (and, obviously, as above mentioned, you share it to at least two contacts):
We don’t know when WhatsApp is going to enable this feature, but consider that WhatsApp started to work on the Multi Share Text feature on the 2.18.325 update, and it was ready for the (beta) public on the 2.18.366 update. WhatsApp can remotely enable this feature, so stay tuned because we will inform when the feature is correctly enabled for everyone!
GROUP CALL SHORTCUT
WhatsApp has recently developed a new feature that adds a group call button in groups, in order to quickly make calls with the participants of the group.
As mentioned on my Twitter, WhatsApp has begun to enable the feature for a few users, being the roll-out very slow.
✅ WhatsApp is rolling out the new group call shortcut on Android beta 2.18.370!
Read the quoted article to discover how the feature works.
If it is not visible yet, please be patient and wait a few hours.
The next beta will also help you to quickly get the feature. https://t.co/DvCTHhmMvj

With the 2.18.373 update, more users are receiving the feature. Once the feature is remotely enabled for you, you will see the group call button in your groups.
Don’t panic if the feature is not enabled yet for you! As above mentioned, the roll-out is very slow, so it might be necessary to wait another week in order to receive the feature from WhatsApp.
ENABLE STICKER SEARCH FEATURE
I’ve talked about the new upcoming Sticker Search feature on Twitter, that will allow to quickly search stickers from your collection, using specific words.
Finally some improvements — New GIF search UI + Stickers search feature.

Today a good follower, Ajith, has suggested me a cool way to temporarily enable this feature without waiting WhatsApp!
If you would like to try this feature, you need to follow this procedure:
• Tap a received sticker, then View More.
• WhatsApp will present the Sticker Pack, but incredibly the Sticker Search button (that should be hidden) is presented in the stickers view!
Note that this procedure doesn’t work for everyone and we don’t know the reasons.
For example, this procedure didn’t work for me, but it worked for a few members (on 2.18.373 beta) of my Discord Server. Note again that WhatsApp might fix this in the next updates.
If you are lucky and the procedure works for you (please let me know on Twitter!), in some situation you need to repeat it everytime you open WhatsApp, because WhatsApp automatically disables it.
Let us know on Twitter if you like this feature and read our next announcements on our Telegram Channel!
WABetaInfo has a Discord Server about WhatsApp, where you can chat, give advice, ask help to other participants and read my announcements!
