In the post about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.15.11 update, we announced WhatsApp Plus. WhatsApp Plus is a new subscription plan that offers access to exclusive features. By paying for a small monthly fee, users will be able to unlock additional features to customize the app. It is available only for WhatsApp Messenger, as it is not offered for WhatsApp Business. This means that the experience is focused on personal communication within WhatsApp Messenger, rather than business use cases.

WhatsApp Plus does not affect privacy or core features

WhatsApp Plus is optional and it does not affect the core messaging experience, as it continues to work in the same way for all users. So users who do not subscribe will still have full access to messaging, calling, and other features without any limitations. The subscription only adds new personalization and enhancements for those users who want more control over the app. Last month, WhatsApp gradually rolled out WhatsApp Plus only for Android users during early testing. Finally, WhatsApp is now also making it available to a limited number of users on iOS with the latest update available on the App Store.

WhatsApp Plus Premium Plan: Features, Pricing, and Availability

A limited group of iOS users can subscribe to the premium plan that extends the app with features not available with the standard experience. After subscribing, users can explore advanced options to customize the app and enhance both usability and control. Users can check from the app settings if WhatsApp Plus is available to their account. If so, they can open the official dashboard to subscribe. The interface shows a price of €2.49 per month in Europe. Instead, it is PKR 229.00 per month in Pakistan and $29.00 per month in Mexico. Get premium stickers when you subscribe to WhatsApp Plus

With WhatsApp Plus, the WhatsApp Sticker Store offers new premium stickers with animated overlay effects. It is possible to decide which premium packs to use, so they are still optional to download. Since these are premium sticker packs, they are not available to standard users. Users can also choose from other tones: Sandy Beige, Emerald Green, Bright Yellow, Olive Green, Fuchsia Pink, Crimson Red, Sunset Orange, and Golden Yellow. These colors provide users with a strong degree of control over how the application appears. After a user selects an accent color, the system applies it uniformly throughout the interface. As a result, the interface that originally appeared in the default green scheme switch to the selected color theme.

Choose a different app icon when you use WhatsApp Plus

WhatsApp Plus offers a selection of 14 different app icons. These icons offer a variety of visual styles, from traditional representations of the app logo to more stylized and decorative interpretations. Among the premium designs, users can select icons with effects such as glitter-like visuals and artistic appearances. For users who prefer simplicity, the set includes outlined versions in light green as well as stark black-and-white styles that highlight contrast and clarity.

Pin up to 20 chats when you subscribe to WhatsApp Plus

At the moment, users can pin up to 3 conversations at the top of the Chats tab. This limitation encourages users to prioritize the most relevant chats and preserve a simple and organized interface. In some cases, users may want to pin a larger number of chats to keep more frequent contacts or important group conversations easily accessible. Users who subscribe can pin up to 20 conversations at the top of the chat list. This means that subscribers can keep a significantly larger number of conversations permanently accessible. Users who do not subscribe can still organize and manage their conversations using chat lists.

Upgrade your chat lists when you use WhatsApp Plus

WhatsApp helps users organize their conversations into different chat lists based on their preferences. This makes it easier to separate work, family, and other types of chats without losing track of important messages. For users who subscribe, WhatsApp will introduce new tools that make it possible to manage multiple chats at the same time through these lists. For example, if a subscriber creates a list that contains all their work colleagues, they can apply a single chat theme to all included conversations with one selection. Users can also set a shared alert tone for messages and a unified ringtone for calls. This allows subscribers to keep consistent settings for the same chat list.

WhatsApp is expanding the collection of call ringtones for users who subscribe to the premium plan. The new selection includes 10 modern tones such as Flutter, Tempo, Ripple, Quest, Drum, Murmur, Flux, Meadow, Bubble, and Carnival. These ringtones are designed with a more contemporary sound style compared to the default options. Choosing one of them makes WhatsApp calls easier to recognize and distinguish from incoming calls from other apps.

WhatsApp Plus billing and automatic renewal system

The premium plan uses a monthly subscription model that automatically renews every billing cycle. Unless the user cancels it manually, the subscription continues and renews every month. WhatsApp processes the charge on the same calendar date as the original purchase every month. To prevent being billed for the next cycle, users must cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Users can manage and cancel their subscription directly through the App Store at any time. In some cases, WhatsApp may also provide eligible users with a free trial period, which can last one month or, in certain situations, one week. This would allow users to explore the plan before committing.

WhatsApp Plus features and future updates on iOS

The premium plan currently includes 6 new features, but WhatsApp aims to update it over time. Specifically, WhatsApp continues to actively develop and refine the subscription experience in order to expand its functionality in the future. At the moment, WhatsApp is working on adding more premium tools and enhancements to provide users with greater flexibility. Although these additional features are not yet available, they are planned for future releases as part of ongoing updates.
