The feature “Expiring Media” was discovered in the WhatsApp beta for Android 18.104.22.168 some days ago, allowing to delete an image, video or GIF in the recipient’s phone, after viewing it for the first time. This feature is under development but we have details about how the feature has been developed.

When sending an expiring media, it will disappear in the recipient’s phone after viewing it.
There is not a date for the release of the feature, because it’s under development and it’s an experimental feature. We have to wait for a future update.
