WhatsApp Plus is rolling out premium features on Android

In the post about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.15.11 update, we announced an optional subscription plan for WhatsApp. Subscribers to WhatsApp Plus gain access to new premium features, including exclusive sticker packs with overlay animations, 18 new app theme color options, and 14 custom app icons. The plan also allows users to pin up to 20 chats, apply bulk settings to chat lists, and choose from 10 exclusive ringtones. The plan is priced at €2.49 per month in Europe, though pricing varies by region.

WhatsApp is working on integrating Meta One subscription plans

WhatsApp is now working on bringing Meta One subscription plans directly to the Android app. Meta One is a new subscription service that unifies premium features from all of Meta's platforms into a single offering. Benefits are available on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta AI. We discovered these plans with the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.23.10 update. Specifically, WhatsApp is working on integrating both Meta One plans into the Subscriptions section.

What Meta One Plus includes

Meta One Plus is priced at €6.99 per month, and it may be available with a one-month free trial to some users. The plan focuses on enhancing the Meta AI experience by offering more monthly AI usage, more advanced reasoning capabilities, and expanded image and video creation tools. It also includes WhatsApp Plus, making it easier to manage multiple benefits with a single subscription. All benefits apply to every Meta profile linked to the same account, including meta.ai.

What Meta One Premium includes

Meta One Premium is priced at €20.99 per month, and it may also include a one-month free trial. It offers everything available with Meta One Plus, but with expanded capacity for higher compute tasks. This means deeper reasoning for complex queries, more image and video generation credits, and more monthly AI usage. Meta One Premium targets users who rely heavily on Meta AI and want the highest level of performance available. Like the Meta One Plus plan, it includes WhatsApp Plus and works on all Meta profiles and platforms.

Subscribing to Meta One also includes WhatsApp Plus

Both plans include WhatsApp Plus as part of the subscription. This means that users who subscribe to Meta One will not need to purchase WhatsApp Plus separately. WhatsApp Plus brings new features to the messaging experience, including exclusive sticker packs, custom app themes, additional pinned chats, and custom ringtones. For users who are interested in both AI features and messaging enhancements, Meta One offers a convenient way to access both under a single subscription.

How to access Meta One subscription plans from WhatsApp

WhatsApp already includes a Subscriptions section for users who have access to WhatsApp Plus. Users can find it at the top of the settings page. This section allows users to manage their WhatsApp Plus subscription, though it does not yet include Meta One plans. In the future, WhatsApp will add Meta One Plus and Meta One Premium directly to this section. This will make it simpler for users to subscribe and manage all their plans.

Meta One or WhatsApp Plus: which plan is right for you

Users who are mainly interested in messaging personalization can subscribe to WhatsApp Plus on its own, which remains available as a standalone plan. Those who also want to enhance their Meta AI experience will find Meta One Plus a better option, since it includes WhatsApp Plus along with more advanced AI capabilities. Meta One Premium is the right choice for users who rely heavily on Meta AI and need the highest level of performance. As a result, there is an option for any user, from those who only want a better messaging experience to those who need the full power of Meta AI.

WhatsApp will always be free to use

Meta One Plus, Meta One Premium, and WhatsApp Plus are entirely optional. WhatsApp remains free for all users, regardless of whether they choose to subscribe. The core messaging experience, including chats, calls, and privacy features, will continue to work exactly as it does today for non-subscribers. These plans do not affect the experience of users who choose not to subscribe.

Meta One subscription plans are coming to WhatsApp for Android

The ability to subscribe to Meta One directly from WhatsApp is currently under development. While it is not widely available yet, a limited number of users may already be able to access Meta One. WhatsApp has not announced an official timeline for its release. However, we expect the feature to become available to more users soon.
