WhatsApp continues to improve group chats with new features, and some users can now experiment with configuring group permissions during group creation. This advantage allows group creators to have better control over their newly created groups and improves the setup process. GROUP PERMISSIONS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.10 update, we announced that a new banner may appear within group chats. Specifically, the new banner acts as a reminder for current group members, inviting them to add new participants to the group. WhatsApp keeps working on adding new enhancements to group chats and some users may already be able to experiment with a new feature implemented in the recent updates of the app. In particular, a select group of users may be able to configure group permissions while creating a group:
As you can see in this screenshot, it’s now possible to set up group permissions during the creation of a group. This shortcut helps the group creator set up group permissions right away, so they don’t have to worry about doing it later and possibly forgetting. To check if this feature is already enabled for your WhatsApp account, just try creating a group.
This feature provides group creators with a significant advantage. Imagine having to create a group with many participants. After creating the group, you would need to immediately open the group info to modify the group permissions before anyone can change the group name as they wish. Thanks to the ability to adjust group permissions even before creating it, WhatsApp is offering an additional feature to group creators, giving them greater control over their newly created groups.
The ability to configure group permissions while creating a group is available to some users that install the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store and WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
