In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.9 update, we announced that WhatsApp was widely rolling out a feature to record and send video messages. Unfortunately, these updates also introduced an issue with the quality during WhatsApp calls, it appears that the problem was enough widespread:


After installing one of the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android, many users complained about the call quality. Specifically, the audio could become distorted in many cases. Other users also experienced difficulties with video calls, where the video quality was very low.
Closing and restarting the call did not resolve the issue, so users had to wait for a new update to fix the bug. As shown in this screenshot, we also reported this issue on Twitter to further highlight the bug in order to ensure that additional users did not install this version.
Although our warning on Twitter, many people discovered that the update had automatically been installed due to the auto-download settings of the Google Play Store. However, we can finally confirm that the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.11 version is a bug-fix update that addresses the mentioned issue, so you can finally start using WhatsApp calls without experiencing this issue. In addition, this update brings important stability improvements to the keyboard, that now appears very smooth.
