NEW GREEN COLOR

Last month, we announced that WhatsApp was introducing an improved user interface for its native application on macOS, particularly by making changes to the app’s sidebar. It seems that WhatsApp wants to continue improving the interface by introducing further changes. In fact, WhatsApp has recently removed the title bar from the app, making the application cleaner with a wider header, and a lot of icons have been redesigned to reflect the style of macOS. However, there has also been another change that gives the application a different look after installing one of the latest updates:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp updated the tint color to green, which corresponds to the new primary color of the application. In particular, all the buttons and interface elements that are blue on iOS now appear green on macOS. There is no doubt that this change has not gone unnoticed and has been well received by users, who hope for further updates to the application’s interface.

The green color definitely represents another element of differentiation from the iOS application. While the application is built using Catalyst and therefore relies primarily on iOS code, we can confirm that the code of a lot of interface elements has been rewritten to improve compatibility with the macOS environment. We are very confident that the native application will continue to receive important updates and features in the coming months.

The new green color for the interface, along with all other improvements, is available to everyone after installing one of the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for macOS from the TestFlight app and the official website, as they are also available in the stable release of the app.
