CHAT THEMES
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.10.10.71 update, we announced a theme feature to customize the chat bubble color. Through this enhancement, WhatsApp aims to provide users with an even more personalized messaging experience, allowing them to select their preferred color for chat bubbles. Although this is still under development, it seems that WhatsApp is now in the process of further refining this feature by adding a new default chat theme feature, as discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.11.10.70 update from the TestFlight app.
As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is working on a section where to choose the default chat theme of the app, set for release in a future update. Similar to the theme feature to choose the main branding color of the app, reported with the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.1.10.70 update, it will be possible to select a new color and wallpaper of the default chat theme from a range of five different colors. Upon selecting a color, it will automatically become our default chat theme, adjusting both the wallpaper and bubble color accordingly in the future.
In our opinion, this dual customization feature will bring several improvements to the user experience. The introduction of diverse color options for both chat bubbles and default wallpapers will provide users with greater aesthetic freedom, enabling them to further enhance the appearance of their conversations. This addition will be particularly significant as users have long requested for the ability to customize chat bubble colors, reflecting a desire for more personalized experience. It's important to note that selecting a default chat theme will only affect your own interface and won't alter the appearance for other chats. Since other users won't have visibility into the theme you've chosen, it ensures that your customization remains personal and does not impact their messaging experience.
